    Dr. Herb Reavis, Jr. was born and raised in the panhandle of Texas. He is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute, Milligan College and the Southern Baptist School for Biblical Studies. He became the Senior Pastor of North Jacksonville Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida in 1991. He and his wife Lisa have three married sons, Joshua, Jonathan, and Joseph.

    Pastor Reavis spreads the Gospel locally on radio and TV through the broadcast “Reach Out.”

    Associate Pastor of Family Ministries

    Buddy is a native of Jacksonville and was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. Buddy was called to the ministry at age 18 and has a sincere desire to see souls saved and encourage Christians as they grow in their faith. He attended Luther Rice Seminary and has served in many different areas of ministry.

    He was called to be the Associate Pastor of Family Ministries at North Jacksonville Baptist Church in 2002. He is responsible for the Married Adult Ministries, Adult Education and Sunday School Program, Outreach Programs and provides support for the Children’s Ministry, Preschool Ministry, and Senior Adult Ministry.

    He and his high school sweetheart, Rhonda have been married over 30 years. They have 3 children and 4 precious grandchildren.

    Tim is a native of Jacksonville, Florida. He was raised in a pastor's home and came to know Christ at the age of 8. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1984 and has served as minister of music for NJBC since 1991. Tim is a graduate of the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Music as well as a Bachelor of Technology degree. Tim and his wife Melody have been married since 1982. They have two married daughters, Sarah Hildebrant and her husband Trey who is on staff at Chestnut Mountain Church, Gainesville, GA and Rebecca Reavis and her husband Jonathan who is on staff at Celebration Baptist Church in Yulee, FL. Tim and Melody have two grandchildren, Emma and Benson.

    Associate Pastor of Administration and Finance

    Chris is a native of Jacksonville and graduated from Jacksonville University with a BA majoring in accounting and minoring in management. Following 8 years in the corporate sector, Chris joined the staff of NJBC in May 1990. Responsibilities include all areas of financial management, stewardship, capital giving, long range planning, facilities management, new construction management, computer network, food services, bookstore, and security.

    Chris was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1997. He has been married to Susie since 1982. She serves NJBC as the pianist. They are the parents of 2 children. Their daughter, Kimberly loves being a mother to their three grandsons, Gibson, Grant, and Gage. Her husband, Brandon serves as a student minister in another local church. Their son, Austin is employed as an EMT and is pursuing additional training towards his goal of becoming a firefighter/paramedic.

    Bob is a native of Atlanta, GA. He was educated at Valdosta State University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Bob has been married to Cathy since 1988. The are the proud parents of Bill and Sarah. He loves both Georgia and Alabama football, and eating any food that begins with s- steak, shrimp, etc.

    Bob has served as Minister with College/Single Adults since 1992. He is responsible for administering the church's educational program with unmarried adults, including Sunday School, Bible Studies, Outreach and Evangelism, Activities, Retreats and Counseling. Bob also coordinates weekly support groups including Divorce Care and Grief Share. He receives new members and works with decision counseling.

    Andy was born and raised in Callahan, Fl. It was in Gray Gables Baptist Church that he met Jesus Christ, fell in love with and was called to serve Him. After teaching math at Hilliard Middle-Senior High for 3 years, He was led back to school at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. In God’s wisdom, He knew that the journey in ministry was not to happen alone so God introduced Stephanie into his life. Stephanie grew up in Atlanta, GA. She is an immeasurable asset to the ministry as well as an incredible wife and mother. Andy has served as youth minister at Bahama Baptist Church in Durham, NC and Merrimon Ave. Baptist in Asheville, NC before being called here to North Jax. God has also blessed Andy and Stephanie with Carlin and Nathan, and in 2009 they adopted Raylin from China.

    Josh surrendered his heart and life to Christ at the age of 15. He surrendered to God’s call to preach at the age of 17. After graduating from First Coast High School in Jacksonville he attended the University of North Florida where he graduated with a BA in Sociology with a minor in Philosophy in 2003. In 2005 he graduated from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN with a Masters of Divinity and was ordained to the gospel ministry. He has served on the staff of NJBC since December of 2005. He and his wife Sarah have one son named Shepherd.
    David Whipple - Minister to Senior Adults

    Minister to Senior Adults

    Rev. David Whipple serves NJBC as the Minister to Senior Adults. He has been in the ministry over 55 years. His first 47 years he served as Minister of Music in churches throughout Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, and Louisiana. He is a graduate of Florida State University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has five children who all went into the ministry. He has served in many areas of the Florida Baptist and Southern Baptist Convention.

    Bro. David's first wife of 42 years went home to be with the Lord in 1997. He is now married to Dr. Emily Claire Cribb-Whipple. Between them they have 20 grandchildren. Both David and Claire have been active in the Florida Baptist Singing Men and Women and the music ministry at NJBC. Bro. David organized the PrimeTime Singers here at NJBC, a 70 voice senior adult age choir. Claire retired from the Duval County School Board after 40 years of teaching and instructing in Special Education. Both David and Claire are very active in the PrimeTime Ministries (Adults 55 plus) of NJBC.

    Kelley was blessed to be raised in a Christian home with an awesome family. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 5 and committed her life to Children’s Ministry in college. After graduating from Saint Leo University in 2002 with a B.A. in Religion, she headed off to the great state of Texas to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where she received her Masters of Arts in Christian Education in 2004.

    Kelley was excited to return home to Jacksonville to serve on staff at North Jacksonville Baptist Church. She has enjoyed spending time with the children and families of NJBC and looks forward to Children’s Summer Camp every year. She met her husband Erick here and they are expecting their first child in October.

    Director of Preschool Ministries

    Myra was blessed to be raised in the strong Christian home of a Southern Baptist Evangelist, James Tisdel. She accepted Jesus as her Savior as a child and committed her life to Christian Ministry while she was in college. She graduated with a B.S. in Psychology from Judson College in Marion, AL. After college she married Jeffrey Campbell and now Myra and Jeff have three children, Megan, Seth and Eric.

    Myra has served in churches and on church staff in Alabama and in Texas since 1984. In June of 2000 she received her Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. While working on her graduate work in Texas, Myra wrote preschool curriculum for the Baptist Sunday School Board which is now Lifeway. She is currently working towards a Doctor of Educational Ministries Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

    Director of Ladies Ministries

    Lisa Reavis directs the ladies ministry of the exciting North Jacksonville Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. She leads the ladies ministry out of her background as mother of three boys, pastor's wife, grandmother, and teacher of Gods Word. Lisa and Pastor Reavis have three sons, Joshua, Jonathan, and Joseph. In June 2005 Jonathan and Rebecca were married and shortly after, in February 2006, Joshua and Sarah were married. Joseph and Lindsay were married in July 2008. In April 2007, Jonathan and Rebecca made Pastor and Lisa proud grandparents with the birth of baby Emma. Their second child, Benson, was born in February 2010.
